Compassion in Action

The Good Samaritans Beliefs or what it takes to be Christ like

The Samaritan became a Neighbor or Close person to him that fell among thieves, in other words the Thief of John 10:10 had tried to leave him for dead but an intervention came as a result of Divine Compassion. All those incarcerated have fallen among thieves.

Notice the Samaritan did Three Significant Things

  • He poured Oil... this is the ministry of God's People through the Holy Spirit and Love
  • He Poured Wine into His Wounds... this is the new wine or the New Birth he brought him to a knowledge of Christ
  • He Gave to him out of his Purse... He gave him money to succeed and be restablished

The Samaritan was non prejudicial in his distinction of need, he was an enemy to the Jews but he was a Friend to Sinners, We must find this same indifferent compassion for Humanity. The Samaritan had put aside his Racial barriers and walls, he was traveling to the City on a Hill, God's City and found someone in His journey to help. He had what I call Compassion that leads to Action, unless we have this same attitude of indifference within ourselves we have not reached the height of Love we can live and walk in Christ. Let's be a good Christian not by prejudicial indifference but by pouring the oil and love of Commitment to the needs of Humanity, it's not about conservative compassion but about unlimited compassion in this Christian journey.
